Samuel Eto’o involved in a physical altercation with a supporter in Qatar

Cameroon FA president Samuel Eto’o has been filmed getting involved in a physical altercation with a supporter outside of a stadium in Qatar, where the 2022 FIFA World Cup is ongoing.

Eto’o appears to have lost his temper with one of the spectators, who was taking him to a video.

The incident happened outside Stadium 974 on Monday night. This is where Brazil beat South Korea 4-1 to advance to the World Cup quarterfinals.

SAMUEL ETO’O PROVOKED?

At first, the former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea forward looked to be in a good mood while posing for pictures with other fans.

However, it seems one of the supporters made an offensive comment as Eto’o was seen chasing one of them.

Despite efforts to hold him back, Eto’o overpowered bystanders and kicked the man before he fell down.

The 41-year-old African football legend is yet to respond to the incident.

The boss of Cameroon FA, Eto’o, is also in Qatar in his capacity as World Cup 2022 legacy ambassador.

CAMEROON BOOTED OUT

The Cameroon national team were recently eliminated from the 2022 World Cup. They finished third in Group G, which had Brazil, Switzerland and Serbia.

The Indomitable Lions finished off their campaign in style with a 1-0 win against Brazil.

But their camp was no short of controversy. Goalkeeper Andre Onana was sent home from the World Cup for disciplinary reasons.

This is after a dispute with the team’s coach, Rigobert Song. Onana reportedly had differences with Song over tactics.

He had played in the opening game during a 1-0 loss to Switzerland, but was dropped for the Serbia game. The 26-year-old later released a statement clarifying the incident.

“I have put all my efforts and energy into finding solutions to a situation that a footballer often experiences, but there has been no will on the other side. Some moments are difficult to assimilate,” said the player.

“However, I always respect and support the decisions of the people in charge of pursuing the success of our team and country.”
