Former Pirates defender Mthokozisi Dube spotted at Royal AM

Former Orlando Pirates defender Mthokozisi Dube has been spotted training with DStv Premiership side Royal AM.

Dube has been clubless since parting ways with Pirates on 30 June, 2022.

He spent time with Golden Arrows after going to KwaZulu-Natal, Durban on loan from the Soweto giants for the last two seasons.

And despite playing well at Arrows, Dube was deemed surplus to requirements at Pirates, who have Thabiso Monyane, Bandile Shandu and newly signed Craig Martin at right-back.

Dube has since resurfaced at Royal AM, where he will be looking to bring his career back on track.

DUBE AT ROYAL AM

Despite Bafana Bes’thende not announcing the departure of Dube, their rivals Royal AM have announced the arrival of the pacey wing back.

“We wish our new team players a happy first week. We looking forward to seeing you at training,” Royal AM confirmed in a post on Instagram.

Amongst other players who have joined the Thwihli Thwahla training is Samkelo Mgwazela, Sibusiso Magaqa and Luckyboy Mokoena.

Mgwazela and Magaqa were both in the books of AmaZulu at the start of the season.

Luckyboy Mokoena has been on the hunt for a new team after parting ways with TS Galaxy last season.

The Shawn Mkhize-owned club has seemingly failed to replicate the impressive form they displayed on their maiden season in the top flight.

Royal AM defied the odds after finishing third on the Premiership table in their first season in the Premiership last season under the guidance of John Maduka.

The KZN-based side won 12 games, drawn 11 and lost in seven outings to accumulate 47 points after 30 games.

In the current campaign, AM have won five games, drawing one while losing in six occasions after 12 games played so far.

They currently positioned 9th on the league table.

Royal AM will be looking to collect maximum points when they return to league action against Cape Town City on the 30th of December at Cape Town Stadium. Kick off for that match is at 17:00.
