Banyana’s Lebohang Ramalepe reveals what she learnt in Belarus

Banyana Banyana defender Lebohang Ramalepe has revealed the lessons she learnt during her stay at FC Dinamo Minsk in Belarus.

The 31-year-old recently cut ties with Minsk as things got sour between the two parties towards the end of the 2022 season.

Ramalepe has been one of the best right-backs for the Belarusian side, with the team heavily relying on her services.

Her robustness, mobile and fearlessness have made her excel in her position abroad.

Despite the unpleasant Minsk exit, the Limpopo-born footballer reckons that her stay in Belarus wasn’t that bad and has learnt a thing or two as an individual and a player.

LEBOHANG RAMALEPE ON BELARUSIAN LESSONS…

“I won’t lie to you, it was a good experience. Coming from a country where there’s no professional football and getting an opportunity to go abroad, really helped me a lot as a player,” Ramalepe told FARPost.

“Now checking, going back to the national team the experience that I have gained here also helped as it played a significant role in shaping me as an international player.

“No one ever thought that one day I could find myself playing abroad as it just happened.”

RAMALEPE ON BELARUS PROFESSIONALISM

Ramalepe also mentioned that the professionalism in Belarus is top-class as everything is always organised on time as compared to the one locally [South Africa].

“The thing is their professionalism here is great and everything is done by the book. So, there is no way that one day you will just wake up and come to training and find something not organised because everything is prepared a day before. So, their professionalism is up to date,” she added.

Ever since joining the side in 2020, Ramalepe has managed to win the Belarusian Premier League title on numerous occasions with Minsk.

However, it remains unclear where the Banyana star will be heading next as she is still weighing on her options.
