Heartwarming text Lloris sent Harry Kane after England’s World Cup exit

France skipper Hugo Lloris has revealed the text that he sent Tottenham Hotspur teammate Harry Kane after England’s FIFA World Cup exit.

Lloris stated that it was a difficult task [to write the message] to do as he is so close to Kane.

The goal-minder told the England captain, who missed a penalty during their World Cup quarterfinals clash that he “will bounce back from his World Cup heartache and continue to shine for his country and Spurs.”

The Three Lions were eliminated by the defending champions France with a 2-1 scoreline this past Saturday at Al Bayt Stadium.

Kane was able to convert the first penalty against Lloris in the opening stages of the second stanza but failed to reciprocate the same energy later on.

THE HEARTWARMING TEXT HUGO LLORIS SENT HARRY KANE…

“We had a text after the game. But it was not easy to find the words straight after the game,” Lloris told the media.

“I thought he needed some rest.

“It’s a difficult time obviously for the English national team and for Harry but he can be proud of what he is done for the national team during this World Cup.

“In football history, many top players missed important penalties in their career. Players like Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kylian Mbappe.

“But I have no doubt Harry will keep his chin up and he will help Tottenham and the national team to shine.”

France will take on Morocco in the semifinals on Wednesday, 14 December at Al Bayt Stadium with the kick-off set for 21:00 [SA time].

Meanwhile, the duo will meet again when Tottenham face Brentford on Monday, 26 December in a Premier League clash.
