Moreirense suffer Kobamelo Kodisang injury blow
Moreirense winger Kobamelo Kodisang has been ruled out due to an injury, which he suffered last week Tuesday.
The South Africa-born sustained a knee injury in training and will be on the sidelines for seven weeks.
Kodisang has been phenomenal for the Portuguese side Moreirense this season, having joined in August this year from SC Braga B on a season-long loan deal.
So far, the 23-year-old footballer has played 13 league games, scored six goals and weighed in three assists in the process.
Overall, Kodisang has netted eight goals across all competitions for Moreirense this season.
One can say that the ex-Kaizer Chiefs target has proven his doubters with some consistent stellar performances and will be hoping to continue where he has left off when recovers and show his worth as the Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos continues to snub him from the national team squad.
The former Platinum Stars man has also managed to walk away with four Man of the Match accolades in Moreirense colours.
It goes without saying that Kodisang isn’t just a Moreirense’s star player, but he is the side’s talisman and the ever-reliable finisher.
To put a cherry on top, Kodisang has represented the South African national U17 team at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile, and was also part of U23 squad that participated at Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Given the Seraleng-born winger’s recent displays, it won’t be a surprise to see many teams come running for his signature at the end of the season.
