Former Pirates captain Happy Jele issues come get me plea to PSL teams

Former Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele has issued a come-and-get-me plea to DStv Premiership teams ahead of the resumption of the domestic season.

The versatile centre-back, Jele is a free agent after parting ways with the Soweto giants in July 2022.

Jele left Pirates after 16 years of service and has been linked with several clubs, including Royal AM, in recent months.

However, Jele, who is not getting any younger at 35 revealed that he has not received an offer from any club after leaving Pirates.

Therefore, news linking him to various DStv Premiership clubs were just speculations and rumours.

HAPPY JELE EXPLAINS HIS SITUATION

“I don’t know [if there are teams interested] we are still waiting, me and my manager [Jazzman Mahlakgane] for one of the teams to come on board. But I’m patient the right time will come,” Jele told MSW.

“Most people are talking to the media not us. So I won’t say there was a team that wanted me.

“I don’t want to say anything that I don’t know. For now there is nothing that is concrete to me.”

Jele revealed that he is open to move to any PSL team that’s if the offer is good, further stating that he is open to moving across the boarders if an offer comes.

“I don’t mind travelling to the coast or to the north as long as I’m going to finish my career in a proper way that I want. I don’t mind travelling even if it’s Botswana, Swaziland or Lesotho,” he added.

“For now, I’m waiting for any team that wants my services and looking forward to working with them.

With the January transfer window opening in about two weeks, Jele might find himself playing football again if he finds a new home. He has been out of action for seven months now.
