How Themba Zwane makes Bongokuhle Hlongwane’s job easier

Bafana Bafana and Minnesota United frontman Bongokuhle Hlongwane has admitted that Themba Zwane makes his job easier as a striker and enjoys playing alongside the Mamelodi Sundowns ace at Bafana Bafana.

Hlongwane reckons that playing with the talented winger [Zwane] at the national team level holds great appeal to him as he draws inspiration from him.

The duo sparked a successful connection in attack up front when Bafana Bafana defeated Mozambique 2-1 in an international friendly match at Mbombela Stadium last month.

When the Minnesota star striker scored a brace against the Mozambican side that day, Mshishi, as he’s popularly known within the football cycles was the one who provided an assist for Hlongwane to score his second goal.

THEMBA ZWANE TOO GOOD IN HLONGWANE’S EYES

The 22-year-old goalscorer further revealed how he cannot go to bed without watching the clip of that assist as it gives him “goosebumps” and so much joy.

Hlongwane believes Zwane is the perfect teammate in attack because he brings an extra dimension to the team and “makes football easier.”

Now the ex-Maritzburg United man is more than excited to know that someone he adores is capable to occupy the burden of responsibility for his team.

BONGOKUHLE HLONGWANE ON PLAYING ALONGSIDE THEMBA ZWANE

“For me, to play with him [Themba Zwane], I will say I was lucky because I played against him, the only thing that was left for me was to play with him in the same team or the same national team,” he told FARPost.

“I am happy to have played alongside him because even the second goal that I scored against Mozambique, he is the one who gave me an assist.

“I usually watch the video before I go to bed. After I scored that goal, I saw the way he was happy for me.

“It usually gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. He makes my work easier [as a striker] because he is smart.”
