Malawi: Bullets decorate Zimbabwean coach Kalisto Pasuwa

Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets have decorated Zimbabwean coach Kalisto Pasuwa with an award for winning four elite league titles in a row.

Bullets handed the former Zimbabwe’s Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa with the Chairman’s Special Award on Friday during the club’s gala held in Blantyre.

The gala marked the end of the season that saw Bullets win three out four trophies available in Malawi.

Kalisto Pasuwa led Bullets to the Charity Shield, TNM Super League and the FDH Cup trophies.

The People’s Team only missed out on the Airtel Top 8 which rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers grabbed.

The former Dynamos coach Kalisto Pasuwa retained the league title with greens promoted from the reserve side to replace 11 seasoned players he offloaded.

HOW KALISTO PASUWA DELIVERED THE GOODS WITH YOUNG PLAYERS

“Adapting to new methods and systems with new players needs time to gel properly,” Bullets website says.

“Still, the players surprised many with a top-notch performance in what was a hectic season as the team participated in three domestic competitions and the CAF Champions League.”

It adds: “In assessing what has essentially been a season of transition, during which new coaching methods and playing combinations take a while to bed in, it was necessary to recognise the efforts and unrelenting commitment of the warriors who wore the red & white jersey with pride and fought gallantly for the Bullets badge this season.”
