Ryan Moon on Chiefs clash: ‘The pressure is on Chiefs’
Golden Arrows striker Ryan Moon has insisted that they have nothing to lose when locking horns with his former employers Kaizer Chiefs this upcoming Saturday in Durban.
It will be the first meeting between the two sides this season with the DStv Premiership resuming following the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Amakhosi will be out to avenge the two league defeats they suffered at the hands of Abafana Bes’thende in the previous campaign.
Moon says the Soweto giants are always under pressure to produce desired results, and therefore as underdogs, Arrows can exploit that.
However, he admitted that facing the Soweto giants will be tricky.
RYAN MOON SAYS THE PRESSURE IS ON KAIZER CHIEFS
“It’s gonna be very difficult, Kaizer Chiefs is a big club,” Moon said during the club’s media open day on Wednesday.
“But when playing the big teams, there’s no pressure on us, the pressure is on them.
“For us is to go out and enjoy the moment.
“You don’t really need motivation when you’re playing Chiefs, Pirates, and Sundowns as a player because you want to put your name in the hat.
“Players are playing for contracts because when playing against Chiefs, they want to do well.
“So, for you is to just stay calm and enjoy the moment.
“Play as a team before you play as an individual.”
Moon joined the KwaZulu-Natal outfit in July this year and has netted two goals after featuring in 11 games.
Both his goals came in their last match against his former club Maritzburg United before the Premier Soccer League was put on hold due to the World Cup.
He will have a point to prove against the Glamour Boys who opted not to renew his contract when it ended in 2019.
The match will take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday at 15:30.
