Zitha Kwinika shares FIFA World Cup break lessons
Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika shared lessons picked from the just-ended FIFA World Cup break.
The DStv Premiership paused for a month in respect of the prestigious global soccer showpiece.
The break, he believes, came at the right time for PSL teams as players took time to reboot and go back to the drawing board. The 2021/22 season is approaching the halfway mark.

According to Kwinika, the break helped in learning new things in football that will improve his performance.
“Us switching off, watching football from home was more of a technical part of seeing how other people are doing it in the biggest league,” Kwinika told the club’s media department.
“It was a bit of training and understanding certain things in football. After that, we had a few days where we needed to go back and keep pushing so that the fitness levels doesn’t drop.”
HOW PRACTICE MATCHES HELPED CHIEFS
Kwinka further revealed that the practice matches helped them in keeping fit and being ready when the season resumes.
“We went back to business, so it wasn’t a full break. We showed that we were not down, and we played a few practice matches.
“From the first game against Lesotho to Swallows and internal 11v11, there was an improvement from where we were to where we are,” he added.
The DStv Premiership resumes on 30 December. Kwinika, a regular at Kaizer Chiefs, is expected to be in action when they travel to face Golden Arrows.
They visit Arrows on New Year’s Eve at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Kick off is at 15:30.
