Golden Arrows coach Vusumuzi Vilakaziย has attributed his teamโ€™s 2-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday in a DStv Premiership encounter to a lapse in concentration.

In a post-match interview, Vusumuzi Vilakazi felt the early goals Abafana Besithende conceded could have been avoided if the players had concentrated better.

โ€œI strongly feel that we lost the game in the first 15 minutes of the match,โ€ he told SuperSport TV after the match in Durban.

WHY LOSS OF CONCENTRATION IS AN ISSUE FOR GOLDEN ARROWS

โ€œIt is a thing we always stress as coaches to keep focus and concentration.โ€

Vusumuzi Vilakazi said his side dominated larger aspects of the game, especially in the second-half.

He, however, noted that it was always difficult to stage a comeback as the Kaizer Chiefshad the wind in their sails courtesy of the early goals.

โ€œWe created a few chancesโ€ฆ we hit the pole once or twice.,” Vusumuzi Vilakazi said.

“We still need to work on ensuring that we fully focus on the game and we donโ€™t concede goals so early.โ€

โ€œThis was not the best Kaizer Chiefs [performance]. They only relied on individual brilliance,โ€ he added.

The Soweto giants won the game courtesy of goals from the league’s leading scorer Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and defender Edmilson Dove.

The Burundian Bimenyimana reacted the fastest to shoot on the turn past a defender and find his target.

It is his seventh league goals that takes him one goal ahead of Mamelodi Sundownsโ€™ Peter Shalulile and Bradley Grobler of SuperSport United.

KAIZER CHIEFS COACH ARTHUR ZWANE ADMITS ARROWSโ€™ CHALLENGE

In a post-match interview with SuperSport TV, Chiefs Arthur Zwane coach Arthur Zwane admitted that Golden Arrows gave them a good run for their money.

Zwane said his game-plan was to ensure that the Kwa-Zulu Natal outfit does not get enough spaces.

โ€œGreat teams like Arrows have players who are comfortable on the ball,โ€ he said.

โ€œIf you give them time and space, they can hurt you so we wanted to put them under pressure.โ€

The Glamour Boys are in fourth place, some seven points behind leaders and holders Sundowns.

The defending champions beat Orlando Pirates 2-0 on Friday to remain top.

Arrows lie 10th on the log table with 16 points from 14 games.
