Chiefs receive boost as Pule Mmodi can leave Arrows immediately
Lamontville Golden Arrows co-coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi has made it crystal clear that they won’t stand in the way of the midfielder Pule Mmodi who’s being hunted by some Premier Soccer League clubs.
Mmodi has now entered the final six months of his contract with Abafana Bes’thende, meaning he’s allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club of his choice.
While Orlando Pirates were interested in the midfielder’s services in the last transfer window, Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu are now understood to be the only two clubs in the race for the attacking midfielder.
Vilakazi says the club want to cash in on the transfer of the former Uthongathi star.
VILAKAZI: ‘PULE MMODI CAN LEAVE THE CLUB ANYTIME’
“Pule can leave the club at anytime, if he has an available offer because the aim is not to keep him,” Vilakazi told the journalists in the press conference at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“Maybe I have to make this clear that if there is an opportunity for the club to make money, Pule will be sold to any other team that wants to buy him.
“But as long as he’s still with us, he’s our player, there’s nothing we can do.
“We’ll work with him because he’s prepared to work with us right now.”
CHIEFS AND AMAZULU GOING HEAD-TO-HEAD
Few weeks ago, Mmodi’s agent, Solomon Seobe of SR Sports Management told FARPost that AmaZulu had made an enquiry about the player and were keen to make a move in January.
On the other hand, Amakhosi are said to haven’t backed down from trying to land the 29-year-old’s signature.
Before this season started, Mmodi also expressed his interest to don the Gold and Black jersey, only for his move to fail just before the last transfer window closed.
