What striker Sede Dion brings to the AmaZulu camp
AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz anticipates new signing Sede Dion to bring a huge impact into the team’s striking department.
Sede Dion officially joined the KwaZulu-Natal side last week ahead of the resumption of the 2022/23 which was halted due to the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.
He is the first Ivory Coast-born player to play for Usuthu.
Folz, who has worked with Dion at Marumo Gallants at the beginning of the season, says the 29-year-old will be Introduced at the right time.
“It’s obviously a player I know. So it’s a player that I know will bring a lot of weight in the opposition box,” said Folz.
SEDE DION’S ROLE AT AMAZULU EXPLAINED
“He is going to be able to hold the ball, he is going to be a threat to any opposition, and most importantly, I know he is going to gel well with other players, offensive, defensive departments combined,” said Folz.
“I know he is a good addition; his first training session has been very promising with us. When the time is right, he will be introduced into the team.”
AMAZULU TO SIGN MORE PLAYERS?
Folz remains tight-lipped on the prospect of the club making more signings during the current transfer window period.
“It’s possible (that we will bring in players), but I will keep that as a surprise so that you will see who is coming,” he said.
“It’s possible, maybe yes maybe not so the only thing that I can say is that if we happen to bring someone, it’s going to be someone, who will bring big value to the team and add depth in areas that we need depth. So we will see.”
Usuthu will take on Royal AM in the DStv Premiership KZN derby on Sunday, 8 January.
Folz’s troops have only won once in their last 10 league matches.
Despite the poor run of form, they remain in seventh position with 18 points from 14 matches.
