Mike Makaab confirms arranging January transfer for Orlando Pirates attacker
Revered agent Mike Makaab is in the process of arranging a January transfer for want-away Orlando Pirates attacker Terrence Dzvukamanja.
All things being equal, the Zimbabwean is set to leave the club before the January transfer window slams shut.
Dzvukamanja has struggled to break into Pirates’ starting line-up since his arrival at the start of the 2020/21 season from Bidvest Wits.
The Zimbabwean international was one of the stand-out performers for Wits under Gavin Hunt.
MIKE MAKAAB LOOKING FOR A CLUB FOR DZVUKAMANJA
However, he has since failed to replicate that top form. According to his agent, Mike Maakab, Dzvukamanja doesn’t have a future at Pirates.
Indications are that Dzvukamanja will find a move elsewhere in two weeks’ time.
“Look, Terrence is obviously not in the plans of Orlando Pirates,” Maakab told FARPost.
“So we are looking for opportunities that will suit the player. And make sure he gets back to playing football.
“We looking to move Terrence away from Pirates in the next coming two weeks. Hopefully, that can materialise.”
The 28-year-old forward only featured once for the Soweto giants this season. He was a second-half substitute during the Pirates’ 0-0 draw against Richards Bay on the 8th of October 2022.
In the previous campaign, Dzvukamanja made 25 appearances in the league for Pirates but failed to find the back of the net.
The Buccaneers currently have Zakhele Lepasa, Kermit Erasmus, Kwame Peprah, Bienvenu Eva Nga and Ndumiso Mabena fighting for the starting berth in the strike force.
PIRATES HAVE SCORED NINE GOALS AFTER 14 GAMES
Pirates have seemingly struggled to find a consistent goal-scoring formula. They are the third-lowest-scoring team in the Premiership, with nine goals scored after 14 games.
The Houghton-based side have won five games and drawn four while losing five times. They are positioned 5th on the league table with 19 points. Pirates will be looking to bounce back to winning ways after suffering a 2-0 loss against high-flying Mamelodi Sundowns last week Friday.
José Reviero-coached team will lock horns with Cape Town City on Saturday at Cape Town Stadium as both sides aim for maximum points. The match is scheduled to kick off at 17:30.
