Arrows coach’s one concern ahead of meeting Hunt’s SuperSport

Lamontville Golden Arrows co-coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi has raised one concern ahead of their meeting with SuperSport United on Saturday.

The red-hot Tshwane outfit hasn’t tasted defeat in their previous six matches and will be looking for a third win on the bounce.

Meanwhile, Arrows will look to redeem themselves as they come from a 2-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs.

Vilakazi says his side still struggle when it comes to defending set pieces and is aware of SuperSport’s strengths in aerial balls.

ARROWS COACH’S CONCERN AHEAD OF SUPERSPORT TIE

“We’ll go to SuperSport United, we played against them in a friendly game, and we know their strengths,” Vilazi told the journalists.

“They know our weaknesses that when they are playing crosses and relying on set pieces, they’re bound to get something.

“It’s something that we still need to work on as a team.

“We know that other things cannot be rectified overnight, but we need to do more repetition in making sure that the players compete in set pieces and stuff like that.

“That’s the only thing that we know that if we go to SuperSport, we’re going to have a challenge.

“But with regards to playing and whatsoever doesn’t worry us, but we need to be productive.”

Golden Arrows coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has attributed his team’s 2-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday in a DStv Premiership encounter to a lapse in concentration.

Vilakazi is satisfied with how they keep the ball but also admitted that they haven’t been creating enough goal-scoring opportunities lately.

WE NEED TO BE PRODUCTIVE GOING FORWARD

“We just need to strike a balance in terms of making sure that we don’t suffer defensively,” Vilakazi added.

“And also, we need to be productive going forward in terms of creating scoring opportunities and converting them into goals.

“So, now we’re going back to our defensive structure, which is something that is a worrying factor.

“In terms of playing and dominating the game, we don’t have the stress but dominating and keeping ball possession doesn’t win you games.

“As much as you can dominate, but you still need to make sure that you score goals to win the games.

“But I think we will invest more or pay attention in terms of our defensive structure.”
