Arthur Zwane offers Kaizer Chiefs transfer update

Arthur Zwane

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane says they are looking for good players to improve their squad and challenge for silverware.

Chiefs recently held trials for a forward at Naturena, but are yet decide with the January transfer window open.

Zwane has suggested that should quality players be available, they will be signed.

ARTHUR ZWANE WANTS SILVERWARE

“We’re forever looking for good players as a club,” Zwane told the media recently. “We want to win silverware. We want to compete, you know.

“And if we get good players, we will go for them. It’s key to profile the players thoroughly and also have a close look at them in action before the decision. That’s the approach we decided to take as a club.”

Asked if any specific position needs to be beefed up, he said any quality player available would be signed.

“As I said, any player who can come in and add value regardless of the position, we’ll go for him.”

Amakhosi signed Yusuf Maart, Dillon Solomons, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, Kamohelo Mahlatse, Ashley Du Preez, George Matlou, Zitha Kwinika, Edmilson Dove and Siyethemba Sithebe at the start of 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.

INCONSISTENT CAMPAIGN

Chiefs have had an inconsistent start to the current campaign. They were dumped out of the MTN8 semi-finals by AmaZulu.

The Glamour Boys have won seven games, and drawn three while losing on five occasions after 15 games played.

Halfway through the 2022/23 campaign, Chiefs are positioned fourth on the league table with 24 points accumulated, 13 adrift from defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

They suffered a home defeat against Sekhukhune in their most recent fixture and visit AmaZulu on Friday as they look to bounce back to winning ways.

Babina Noko narrowly beat them 1-0, spoiling their 53rd-anniversary celebrations.
