Erik ten Hag reveals how he has turned Old Trafford into fortress

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has revealed how he has turned Old Trafford into a fortress since taking over the coaching reigns at the club.

The Dutchman reckons the Red Devils’ “togetherness” is what makes his side unstoppable at their own turf.

Man United’s stellar home form has increased to nine consecutive victories following their 3-0 win against Charlton Athletic in a League Cup [Carabao Cup] on Tuesday night.

The ex-Ajax Amsterdam mentor also stood his ground by taking some decisive decisions, the biggest one being getting rid of Portugal star man, Cristiano Ronaldo.

He went on state that the high standards he has set within the team has helped a lot and also divulged how nobody is bigger than the team.

HOW TEN HAG MAKES UNITED UNSTOPPABLE AT HOME

“It’s by standards. By every day, living along high standards,” the 52-year-old tactician told talkSPORT

“It’s by the team, building a team. Nobody is bigger than the team, everybody has to contribute to the team.

“That’s not about 11 players, but the whole squad. It’s the team around the team.”

HOW EVERYONE PLAYS THEIR ROLE AT THE TEAM..

He further stated that all the staff [medical staff, the performance staff, the coaches, the analysts] has played a significant role in the team’s recent performances.

“Everyone has one aim and they’re contributing to that and working hard for that with togetherness,” added Ten Hag.

“When we keep this going, we can achieve a lot.”

The side next assignment will be against arch-rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.

And Ten Hag will be hoping to maintain his home fine form when they take on the Premier League defending champions, whom they suffered a 6-3 defeat earlier this campaign.

The kick-off is set for 14:30 [South African standard time].
