Majoro reveals AmaZulu targets for remainder of the season
AmaZulu FC striker Lehlohonolo Majoro has disclosed what the club is intending to achieve for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
Things haven’t been going according to the plan for Usuthu who have just collected only four victories in the 15 DStv Premiership matches so far.
Following the strings of poor results, the KwaZulu-Natal side had technical team changes in October when Brandon Truter left the club and was replaced by Romain Folz.
Siyabonga Nomvethe, who was serving as an assistant coach to Truter, was also demoted to the juniors and Ayanda Dlamini took that position over.
However, the changes haven’t come to fruition with Folz having tasted only one victory after eight games across all competitions.
Majoro says their intention is to climb up the table and finish within the top four as the club’s president wanted.
MAJORO ON USUTHU TARGETS THIS SEASON
“Definitely, we want to finish in the top four like the president has said,” Majoro told the media.
“It’s something that we know, it’s not impossible. We have been there before.
“I believe with the quality that we have in this team, we can achieve that, more especially with the number of games that we’re yet to play in front of us. All is not lost”
LACK OF GOALS FOR THE STRIKER
Meanwhile, the 36-year-old forward has been enduring a scoring drought this season as he hasn’t found the back of the net in the league.
The only goal for Majoro in this campaign came when he scored the winner for Usuthu in their 2-1 triumph in the MTN8 quarterfinal against Cape Town City in August.
He’ll be looking to haunt his former club Kaizer Chiefs when they meet in the DStv Premiership on Friday night at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. The kick-off is set for 19:30.
AmaZulu are currently 12th on the log standings with 18 points after 15 games.
