New VFA January signings confirmed

Venda Football Academy (VFA) coach Simo Dladla has confirmed the new signings during the January transfer window period.

VFA are still second from the bottom in the Motsepe Foundation Championship log. They played a 1-1 draw against rivals Black Leopards in the Vhembe Derby at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.

VFA JANUARY NEW SIGNINGS

Dladla has confirmed that a few players have been roped in to help improve the situation.

“We have (Ndivhuwo) Ravhuhali on loan from Marumo Gallants, Mphakamiseni Nene, and Athini Jodwana coming from Swallows. We also have (Sbonelo) Ngubane coming in from Baroka,” he told the media.

“(Brandon) Mokgope the left winger and Matlakala from Marumo Gallants and the young man Bongolwethu Siyasi from Mamelodi Sundowns.

“So we have a bit of depth and a bit of quality. We are looking to turn things around and maybe of course an upset,” said Dladla.

“The squad is coming alright if you look at the preparations and friendlies we were unbeaten. We played the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Marumo Gallants and Magesi and we went to Johannesburg to play Callies so I would say we are gelling.”

DLADLA ON THE NEWLY ASSEMBLED TECHNICAL TEAM

“Me and Joel (Masutha) are not strangers. We worked together at Royal Kings and we were unbeaten in eight games before I went to Richards Bay.

“With Macbeth (Sibaya) I worked with him at Uthongathi before I left to join VFA. So it’s guys that I worked with, we understand each other and we understand the style of play that will make us proud. But it’s a work in progress.”

VFA will return to league action on Wednesday, 18 January at Thohoyandou Stadium. They will take on Dladla’s former club Uthongathi, who are now in the hands of Papi Zothwane. They have also been drawn against ABC Motsepe League side FC Blackcross from Free State in the Nedbank Cup last 32 round.
