What Fadlu Davids expects from Meza, Cross and Peprah

Maritzburg United head coach Fadlu Davids has explained what his side will gain from the arrival of Ali Meza, Bradley Cross, and Kwame Peprah.

The three signings were officially unveiled by the Team of Choice on Thursday.

While free agents Meza and Cross join the club permanently, Peprah is on loan from Orlando Pirates.

Davids, tasked with the mission to save the club from relegation, is confident the acquisitions will strengthen his side.

MEZA’S COME BACK

“Ali Meza is a fantastic player who gives us an attacking option with a different dimension,” he said.

Meza returns to the Blue army for his second stint one year after leaving them.

“He knows the club well, and we expect a big impact from him after his troubles with injuries,” Davids continued.

“We made his assessment, and he is ready and good to go.”

Meanwhile, the left centre-back Cross comes to the club with European experience after stints with Schalke 04 and Newcastle United.

CROSS COMING WITH ‘HUGE PEDIGREE’

“Bradley Cross is a player with huge potential. We are here to help him develop his potential to become a top PSL player. We’ll assist him in getting him ready to compete at a PSL level,” the Maritzburg gaffer added.

“He comes with a huge pedigree, having competed in the two giant European clubs. Now it’s a step for him to make an impact in the PSL, and we expect big things from him.”

Lastly, the 41-year-old coach expressed delight after reuniting with Peprah, whom he mentored at the Buccaneers last season.

Davids will be looking to bring the Ghanaian striker back to life after he’s had limited game time this season.

FADLU DAVIDS HAPPY TO REUNITE WITH PEPRAH

“Kwame Peprah is a striker that propelled Pirates leading the attacking line into the Confederation Cup final. He has a huge pedigree in relation to his season at Pirates.

“I know him well; I know his strengths, and I know how to utilise him. I’m sure he will make a huge impact along with our other strikers, Samu and Amadou. All three of them will complement each other well and give us a different strength in our attacking prowess.”

Maritzburg will be up against Royal AM in a DStv Premiership clash at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
