Retired PSL star’s advice to ex-Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase is yet to get some action at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards this season.

Ntshangase was re-signed by Leopards last week after being clubless since the end of the 2021/22 season.

The move to Leopards has been described as a last chance for the 29-year-old to revive his once promising career.

Ntshangase’s career has been marred by allegations of being ill-disciplined off the field.

One player who enjoyed the limelight and is still considered to be one of the best players to don the Leopards jersey is Christopher “Matari” Netshidzivhe.

Netshidzivhe took the PSL by storm while at Lidoda Duvha between 2007 and 2010. He was considered to be one of the best dead-ball specialists in the league.

He believes the move by Ntshangase back to Leopards was a good move as he still has a lot to offer.

“At least he seems to have learned where he is coming from. He now needs to share his experiences with these youngsters at the club on how to play or how to behave outside. He is a lovely boy, who still has a lot to offer,” said Netshidzivhe.

“What he has gone through is normal but he needs to take this opportunity at Leopards with both hands and anything is possible in life.

“If he is facing challenges (outside of football) he needs to be open with the chairman (David Thidiela),” he added.

“There is no one who can claim that Thidiela has never given them attention. He just despises lies.”

LEOPARDS LEAGUE SITUATION

Black Leopards played to a 1-1 draw against Venda Football Academy (VFA) in a Vhembe Derby at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.

The result has not changed anything in their log position. They remain languishing in the bottom three after 13 matches have been played. Leopards’ next encounter is away at University of Pretoria on Tuesday.
