Jurgen Klopp discusses Liverpool future
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has spoken out about his future with the club following a string of poor results in the Premier League.
The side currently sits ninth on the table with 28 points from 18 outings. Since then, the German mentor has been under fire as results haven’t been forthcoming.
Over the weekend, Liverpool succumbed to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Brighton in a league clash.
The 55-year-old tactician described the heavy defeat as one of the team’s “bad performances”, and they need to get “back to basics” to improve their poor run form.
WHAT JURGEN KLOPP SAID…
“If nobody tells me to go, I will not leave,” Klopp told the media during the press conference ahead of their FA Cup third-round replay against Wolverhampton tonight [21:45].
“So, that means maybe there is a point where we have to change other stuff.
“We will see that, but that is something for the future. Like summer or whatever. Not now.
“I have space and time to think about it. We have to play better football now.”
He went on to address the issue of football fanatics, saying that he is too loyal to some of his troops.
JURGEN KLOPP ON HIS LOYALTY TO SOME OF HIS PLAYERS…
“I’m loyal, and I think everybody should be loyal, but I am not too loyal,” he added.
“The problem is too complex. You have a good player who did a lot of good things in the past, and then you think maybe that is it for him.
“If you can then go out and bring in another player to replace the other one, that makes sense.
“If you cannot bring anybody in, you cannot bring anybody out. That is the situation.”
