Zukile Kewuti reveals how SuperSport plans to approach Richards Bay clash

SuperSport United’s new recruit Zukile Kewuti has revealed how Matsatsantsa plans to approach their DStv Premiership clash against Richards Bay on Sunday [22 January 2023].

Gavin Hunt’s side will welcome Natal Rich Boyz at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, with the kick-off scheduled for 17:30.

SuperSport come into this game after their disappointing 1-0 defeat to cross-town rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

Whereas the KwaZulu-Natal club will come into the encounter highly motivated following their 2-0 win over struggling Marumo Gallants.

Kewuti, who made his SuperSport debut in the Tshwane derby on Monday night, admit that it won’t be a walk in the park when they take on the DStv Premiership title chasers.

SUPERSPORT UNITED CAN’T AFFORD TO DROP MORE POINTS…

However, the ex-Maritzburg United midfielder insists that they have a special plan to approach the game as they can’t afford to drop more points.

“The next match is crucial. We must go into the match with the same energy we possessed in our last match against Sundowns,” Kewuti told the club’s media department.

“It’s not going to be an easy one as we will be fighting to cement a place in the top eight bracket.

“We have our own target, as we can’t afford to drop more points in the second round of the season.”

WHAT WENT WRONG AGAINST MAMELODI SUNDOWNS…

Kewuti further stated that their ability to convert their clear-cut chances cost them big time, and they will go back to the drawing board to work on their finishing.

“We worked as a compact unit but were just unlucky as we created a lot of scoring opportunities,” he added.

Despite SuperSport losing their last two league games, the side has gradually raised the standards under the tutelage of Hunt since taking over the coaching reigns at the club.

As things stand, Matsatsantsa sit third on the table with 27 points, just two points behind the Natal Rich Boyz, who are placed second on the log standings.
