JDR Stars explain details of Prince Nxumalo’s move

Motsepe Foundation Championship side JDR Stars have confirmed that striker Prince Nxumalo has joined them on a permanent move.

Nxumalo joins JDR from DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United, where he has spent the past two seasons and a half.

The 32-year-old has already made his JDR debut during the 1-0 win against Pretoria earlier this month in the second-tier league.

HOW PRINCE NXUMALO MADE AN IMMEDIATE IMPACT

The well-travelled striker opened his goal-scoring account during the 5-0 win against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM] on Sunday.

Club boss Nditsheni Nemasisi has since clarified the details of Nxumalo’s move to the club.

“It’s a permanent move for Prince. We have signed him for this season with an option depending on where we are,” Nemasisi told the media.

“He wants to play in the DStv Premiership; hopefully we will get promoted and keep him.”

JDR SATISFIED WITH THE FORM TURNAROUND

“In January, we have done well. We have taken nine points, scored seven goals and conceded zero. I am hoping that our fortunes will continue the way it is now.

“Hopefully now officially we have played 15 games which means the first round is done and we need to start the second round the way we have finished it,” added Nemasisi.

“We have a good mix of youth and experience. Bringing Prince Nxumalo, Sello Motsepe and Ngwepe in now I’m January is adding to the experience.

“I think in other seasons, you would find that we are lacking experience, and these guys are really helping in terms of helping these youngsters.”

Meanwhile, some of the players on loan from Sekhukhune United include Sean Ledwaba, Kamohelo Sithole and Tumi Ngwepe. Defender Sello Motsepe has also joined from Babina Noko.

JDR are in a good position on the log standings, third after 15 matches played. They are just three points below leader Polokwane City and second-placed Casric Stars.
