Ode Fulutudilu’s advice to Banyana star Linda Motlhalo after Scottish move

FC Fleury 91 forward Ode Fulutudilu has advised Linda Motlhalo after the Banyana Banyana star recently joined Scottish side Glasgow City.

Fulutudilu, who left Glasgow in July 2022 to join the French side, Fleury, has shed light on how the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations [WAFCON] winner, Motlhalo, can adjust to the new environment in Scotland.

The attacking midfielder, Motlhalo, penned a two-year deal with Glasgow after parting ways with Swedish club Djurgården in November last year.

Fulutudilu reckons the 24-year-old footballer should take everything slowly and trust the process as she will soon be at her best after adjusting to the new environment.

“I believe she has signed for two years of which is enough time for her to adjust to the new environment,”Fulutudilu told FARPost.

“So, I think she should relax and take each day, week, training session and game as it comes,”

“She shouldn’t put too much pressure on her to be flying right away. However, if she is flying right away that would be honestly great.

“But, the Scottish League you know the weather and the fields those kind of things takes every person time to get used to.

“The good thing is that she signed a long enough to be able to get used to everything mentally and physically.”

However, Fulutudilu added that the ex-Houston Dash star player should play her normal game the best way she knows how and “show what she is capable of.”

The highly-rated frontwoman further stated that Motlhalo will also need to be mentally and physically strong for her to get used to the tactics and style of play under the tutelage of the interim head coach Leanne Ross.

“We all know that things don’t just go smoothly right away when moving to new teams, so she should take her time,” she explained.

“But, a lot of the time is not the case because our bodies and minds needs some time to adjust or get used to the tactics and style of play.

“Most importantly, she should do what she enjoys doing best especially in trainings to take those things [challenges] as they come and in due time she will be flying and showing what she is capable of.”
