‘We want the magic of Limpopo’: Jessica Motaung on Chiefs’ return to Polokwane

Kaizer Chiefs marketing and commercial director Jessica Motaung believes that the “magic of Limpopo” [lucky charm] will bring back the club’s glory days.

This comes after the Soweto giants reached an agreement with the Polokwane municipality to play some of their home games in Peter Mokaba Stadium for the next three seasons.

Motaung reckons that the history will repeat itself as the Glamour Boys managed to lift some silverware when they played in Polokwane between 2011 and 2015.

So far, three matches have been confirmed to take place at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The three games will be against Royal AM this coming Sunday, 29 January, Golden Arrows [19 February 2023] and lastly a Soweto Derby clash against Swallows [2 May 2023].

The much-awaited encounter between Amakhosi and Thwihli Thwahla is scheduled to kick-off at 17:30.

And Limpopo is already buzzing ahead of the Sunday’s DStv Premiership showdown.

This will be the Glamour Boys’ first home game in eight years at Peter Mokaba.

“We are looking forward to bringing our supporters from different provinces to come here to have the experience of playing in Polokwane.

“We are hoping that it will bring back that energy that will inspire our team to win.”
