Linda Motlhalo told what to expect in the Scottish Women’s topflight

FC Fleury 91 forward Ode Fulutudilu has explained what Banyana Banyana star Linda Motlhalo can expect in Scottish Women’s Premier League [SWPL].

Motlhalo recently joined the Scottish side Glasgow City on a two-year deal, and she is most likely to make her debut when they take on the defending champions Rangers in their final game of January.

The kick-off is scheduled for 18:10 [SA time] at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld on 29 January 2023.

Glasgow sit top of the SWPL with 43 points, five points clear of second-placed Celtic Women.

To add on to that, Leanne Ross’ charges have an impressive away record as they have not dropped points away from home this campaign.

Meanwhile, Rangers are currently placed third on the table with 36 points but have a game in hand over the sides above them.

WHAT LINDA MOTLHALO CAN EXPECT IN THE SWPL

“The Scottish Premier League is extremely physical because the majority of the games you play are against teams that are going to sit back quite deep,” Fulutudilu told FARPost

“So, when a team is sitting back very deep and not having a lot of open space in between, she should expect to have lots of touches on the ball.

“And the opponents prefer counter-attacks because they sit back and expect you to come at them. But one thing for sure, they can be very physical.”

THE CLUB’S STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH WILL HELP LINDA MOTLHALO

The ex-Glasgow player further stated that the club’s strength and conditioning coach will be able to get Motlhalo in the right condition so that she will be able to play her normal game when she takes the centre stage.

“However, Glasgow’s strength and conditioning coach is very good in preparing you to get in the right condition that is needed for you to be able to compete,” she added.
