How fans saved the day in Eswatini Premier League embarrassing moment

Football fans had to save the day during a league match in the Eswatini Premier League on Saturday afternoon. This comes after a player got injured during a match between Manzini Wanderers and Denver Sundowns. The match ended 1-0 in favour of Wanderers in the league run by the Eswatini Football Association.

But drama unfolded with 20 minutes to go when one of the players got seriously injured. The match referee was forced to call an ambulance to take the player to a hospital due to the nature of the injury. 

Much to the surprise of everyone at the Prince of Wales Stadium, the ambulance was not moving.

ESWATINI PREMIER LEAGUE SAVED FROM EMBARRASSMENT 

Much to the frustration of the fans and players. The supporters were forced to take matters into their own hands and stormed into the pitch side to help start the ambulance. After a few minutes, the car was started, and the player was taken to the hospital, much to the relief of everyone. 

SOLLY LUVHENGO GETS OFF ON A WINNING NOTE 

Meanwhile, still in Eswatini, South African-born coach Solly Luvhengo started his stint at Mbabane Highlanders on a good note. Luvhengo took charge of the Eswatini giants during their 3-2 win against defending champions Royal Leopards at Mavuso Sports Centre on Sunday.

The club recently appointed the former Amajita coach.

“We are working very well together. The boys are fighting. They have received me very well and helped me a lot with the leadership of the Chairman, Chief Ally.

“That’s why you see the players with good energy. They work for each other, and they press high. We are not there yet in terms of how we want to play, but the energy is there, the willingness is there, and the teamwork is there,” he said. 

“For me, as a start, we are happy with the result and the performance.”
