Pirates fans react to Zakhele Lepasa’s SuperSport United loan deal

Fans have reacted to Orlando Pirates’ decision to loan out striker Zakhele Lepasa to SuperSport United for the remainder of the season.

Some of the supporters feel the loan switch is timely for the Bafana forward Zakhele Lepasa to leave Orlando Pirates for SuperSport United.

Others suggest that the striker should have stayed at Orlando Pirates.

WHAT PIRATES FANS SAY ON ZAKHELE LEPASA’S MOVE TO SUPERSPORT UNITED

Most of the fans commenting on Orlando Pirates’ official Facebook page say Lepasa stands a chance to play regularly at SuperSport United.

Pirates fan, Big Bear Tlebere, said he would have loved Lepasa to stay put.

“I love Lepasa so much, but good move Pirates. He needs game time,” he said.

Khanyisani Nyembezi recalled how winger Tloe Segolela revived his career after a similar loan move to Bloemfontein Celtic.

“The guy scored his first hattrick there. Wish you [Lepasa] all the best boy. I know for the fact that Lepasa is a top striker,” he said.

Mahlako Sekhukhune suggested that Cameroonian forward Eva Nga should also follow suit. He should be loaned out.

“Good for him. At least, he’ll get game-time. Now, release Eva Nga also,” he said.

Peter Shikz Shikoane has since warned Lepasa to keep out of social media negativity.

“Twitter and Instagram will be the end of Lepasa’s career,” Shikoane said.

“Social media has a lot of negative people who aim to destroy daily.”

PIRATES SUPPORTERS HOPE LEPASA WILL RETURN BETTER FROM LOAN SPELL

Sinalo Jam Jam hopes that Lepasa will return from Matsatsantsa a better striker.

“Good luck to him. I hope he will return in good shape. But why are we helping SuperSport because they sell all their players to Sundowns,” Jam Jam said.

Vum-Vum Dee disagreed with Jam Jam’s opinion.

“Sinalo JamJam, it is more beneficial to us than to them. Our lad gets game time, and he comes back sharper than ever,” Vum-Vum Dee observed.

Archiebold Phuti said SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt is good at reviving players’ careers.

“Gavin Hunt’s philosophy,” Phuti wrote.

“When at Wits, he signed all rejects from big teams and went on to win the league.”

Phuti added: “How do you release Lepasa whose age is still on his side and sign [Ndumiso Mabena on 36 years]?  Someone at Pirates is sabotaging the club.”

Lindokuhle Vilakazi chipped in, saying: “Good move. He will get game-time.

“It was hard for him to get game-time at OP,” he wrote.

Simo Duma agreed with Pirates coach Jose Riveiro’s decision to let go Lepasa.

“I’m a big fan of Zakhele. Unfortunately, our striking department is overloaded,” he said.

“…so good luck to him. All the best at his new home.”

WHO WILL COMPETE WITH LEPASA AT SUPERSPORT UNITED?

Lepasa faced stiff competition at Pirates from the likes of Kermit Erasmus, Nga, Vincent Pule, Deon Hotto and Thembinkosi Lorch.

Lepasa will have company at SuperSport of strikers such as Bradley Grobler, Mamour Niang, Ghamphani Lungu, and Thamsangqa Gabuza.
