Another Banyana star set to join Mexican top-flight

Banyana Banyana attacker Noxolo Cesane is on the verge of joining Mexican side, Tigres.

This comes after a few months Cesane penned a one-year deal with an option to renew with the French club, Stade de Reims.

WHY NOXOLO CESANE SET TO LEAVE THE FRENCH SIDE

According to sources close to this publication, the 21-year-old footballer is near to make her Mexico switch, as she has been struggling to get a game time at Stade de Reims.

Also, Cesane had joined the French side from the University of the Western Cape [UWC], where spent three seasons.

In South Africa, she also represented Cape Town Roses, before moving UWC back in 2018.

In addition, the talented player had her fair share of play over the past few years, having represented South Africa’s U17, U20, and now the national women’s senior team.

Cesane’s stellar performances at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations [WAFCON] held in Rabat, Morocco opened the doors for her to secure the overseas move.

This move saw her playing in a European league for the first time in her football career.

Furthermore, Cesane was a key member of Desiree Ellis’ WAFCON squad, contributing two assists to help Banyana to be crowned the African champions for the first time ever.
