Marumo Gallants thrashed Al Akhdar SC 4-0 in their CAF Confederation Cup group stage opener at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Gallants’ attacking unit started brightly, creating a couple of chances in the opening minutes of the Showdown.

Just four minutes into the clash, the home side broke the deadlock through Lesiba Nku.
MARUMO GALLANTS TOO STRONG FOR AL AKHDAR
Gallants never slowed down from that point as they continued knocking at the visitors goals.
In the 21st minute of the showpiece, Ranga Chivaviro added to the scoreline to make it 2-0.
Akhdar tried so hard to come back into the game by attempting to expose the Gallants’ weaknesses but luck was just not on their side.
The match went into the interval with the South African side leading 2-0.
Back out for the remaining 45 minutes, Gallants fought so hard to maintain their lead, as the opposition side tried to pull one back.
The turnaround was swift and overwhelming for Marumo, who never looked like responding to spoil what became the perfect start to their Confederation Cup group stage opener.

The unfazed hosts scored another goal when Chivaviro completed his brace in the 51st minute.
After the third goal, chances began to be few and far between from the two teams.
