Bongani Ndulula regrets leaving Kaizer Chiefs

Bongani Ndulula says he regrets leaving DStv Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs.
Ndudula was part of the Kaizer Chiefs set-up from 2015 after joining the club from AmaZulu. However, he failed to make a real impression in front of goals in Amakhosi colours.
Hardships have marred the former Bafana Bafana international’s career since he left Amakhosi in 2016, intending to get regular game time elsewhere.
The 33-year-old forward has seen his career take a downward slope as he has been clubless following his departure from Chippa United in 2017.
Ndudula believes that he should have stayed with the Soweto giants and fought for his place in the team.

“At Chiefs, I played six to seven games,” Ndulula said on SNAWA with Andile Ncube.
“Every time I would get an opportunity to play, I would get injured. There weren’t teams lining up for me when I was at Chiefs.
“I just asked the team to release me because I thought I’ll get more game time elsewhere. In hindsight, I should have stayed at Chiefs and fought for my position instead of going to Chippa.
“I never ever made the sqaud of 18 at Chippa the entire time I was there. I don’t know why I never got to play.
“But I remember reading in the papers that I’ve gained weight. Surprisingly, no one ever had that discussion with me. It was hurtful that Chippa thought I gained weight.”
The striker added: “After leaving Chippa, I went to trials at Mbombela United in the second division.
“Few days later I was told that the trails were over and it didn’t work out.
“I even went in trials at Polokwane City Rovers. I gave 100% at the trials and I respected their process.
“After a week I was told there was no need for me to come back, I asked no questions and left.
Meanwhile, Ndulula, who also had stints with Bloemfontein Celtic and Orlando Pirates, reiterated that he is yet to retire despite being inactive for over six years.
It remains to be seen which club will offer him a lifeline.
