Barely four months into the job, Kgoloko Thobejane has stepped down from his role as head coach of an ABC Motsepe League side in the North West province.
Thobejane was appointed as the man in charge ABC Motsepe League side Som FC.
He was tasked with ensuring that the club gains promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The former Baroka coach started like a house on fire, winning seven out of the nine league games.
Som FC are currently second in stream A, two points behind log leaders Orbit College.
But news reaching FARPost is that the charismatic coach has taken a decision to permanently down tools despite doing well at the club.
It is alleged that Thobejane was unhappy with the club’s decision to hire Lebogang Mothibantwa as an assistant coach.
NO REASON FOR KGOLOKO THOBEJANE SUDDEN DEPARTURE
Co-chairman of the club Simon Obakeng Mochocho confirmed Thobejane’s departure but says they are still puzzled on the decision.
“Yes, he has left. Mr Thobejane is not happy so he left on Monday,” Mochocho told FARPost.
“He just told us that he is not happy and he was doing very well so I am so disappointed. We did not chase him away so I don’t know what is the problem.”

Mochocho suspects Thobejane might have left because of the arrival of Lebogang Mothibantwa.
Mothibantwa is set to be appointed as the assistant coach.
“Lebo was joining as an assistant coach. So perhaps he is not happy about that one. That’s what we suspect, but he did not tell us that, he just said he was not happy.
“He was doing very well. We tried to engage him but seemingly he had already made up his mind. But it’s his won decision. But even now Mothibantwa is not yet officially appointed to sit on the bench.”
“We are going to win the league. I am 100% sure of that,” said Mochocho on their promotion challenge.
