Sundowns star Teboho Mokoena takes good form off the pitch

Mamelodi Sundowns star, Teboho Mokoena has taken his good form off the pitch by pulling off a grand gesture to show appreciation to Metro Police officers, in the ‘month of love’; February for keeping SA roads safe.

Car accidents are a growing concern in SA due to reckless driving as a result of being under the influence of alcohol and other substances.

Over the years, the South African football sphere has had to mourn some of its stars for some of the fatal car accidents experienced on the roads.

The Bafana Bafana international, Mokoena being a professional footballer himself, is aware of this fatal trend that the football industry that has had to face in the past.

And he is also immensely concerned with the increasing level of car accidents that occur on SA roads repeatedly.

Therefore, the DStv Premiership giants; Sundowns midfielder with his foundation, the Teboho Mokoena Foundation, choose to celebrate the month of love to thank Metro Police officers for their hard work.

And for the amount of work they have put in on the roads, day in, and day out, trying to combat the increasing amount of car accidents on our roads.

The 26-year-old did this by giving out roses to every officer in one of Gauteng’s police station.

“With soccer players having a history of car crashes, this comes as motivation to Operation Officers that they must not give up when it comes to enforcing the law,” said Mokwena.

“We appreciate their work and we just want to show appreciation by giving them roses during this month of love.

Mokoena also had a message for football fans across the board as they will be celebrating Valentines on Tuesday, 14 February.

“Let’s always remember to buckle up, no drinking and driving. Keep a safe following distance and above all, be safe. Happy Valentine’s to you all,” concluded Mokoena.

On the field of play, Mokoena has featured in 24 matches all competitions for the Tshwane giants, including in the CAF Champions League.
