Sead Ramovic clarifies Mosimane, Vilakazi and Teto remarks

"Maybe they [SA football industry at large] didn't understand what I meant."

TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic has shed light on the comments he recently made about Sibusiso Vilakazi and Aphelele Teto and his war of words with Pitso Mosimane.

The Rockets released Sibusiso Vilakazi after coach Sead Ramovic felt the attacking midfielder wasn’t giving his maximum effort on the field.

And Mosimane responded in defence of the former Mamelodi Sundowns star, saying he was “dumbfounded” by the tone of Sead Ramovic because he knew Vilakazi otherwise.

The German coach replied stating Mosimane must sign ‘Vila’ and focus on bringing success to Al Ahli Saudi. ‘Jingles’, then reminded Ramovic that he had to finish in the top eight and break Dan Malesela’s record of winning the Nedbank Cup with Siyadumuza in 2019.

Now, Ramovic says he believes that Mosimane is aware of his humility and insisted he respects the former Bafana Bafana coach.

SEAD RAMOVIC: ‘I RESPECT PITSO MOSIMANE’

“I respect Pitso [Mosimane] a lot because he’s a fantastic coach,” Ramovic told the media.

“He breaks a lot of records as a coach. And I don’t want to say anything else. I think the comments we made, we made.

“But he knows probably and all the people who know me, know that I’m a really humble guy. I really try to be a nice human being because my religion is like this.

“So, I just want to wish him to continue [breaking] these kinds of records as a coach.”

Meanwhile, with regards to demoting Teto to the reserve team, Ramovic had criticised the youngster for his boastful attitude, saying perhaps he had been overhyped.

He said, “maybe he thinks he is Messi” and just like Vilakazi, he stated that the 19-year-old wasn’t giving enough in training.

Ramovic says he has to offer a fair chance to all the players and the ones who put more effort come first. It doesn’t matter at whose expense.

RAMOVIC CLARIFIES COMMENTS ON VILAKAZI AND TETO

“Maybe they [SA football industry at large] didn’t understand what I meant,” he added.

“It doesn’t matter whether it’s Teto, or Vilakazi or Mlu [Mlungisi Mbunjana] or something.

“How this would be fair to someone that really put a lot of effort every day at training and he also would like to make his career, to put just Teto, Vilakazi or other, it doesn’t matter.

“It’s not about the person, it’s not about anything. It’s just about me as a coach. I want to give everyone the same chance.

“So, if somebody puts a lot of effort at the training, I think it’s just fair for him, for the guy that puts effort to give him a chance that her can build a beautiful career.

“What will happen if I just put player X and they don’t put the same effort and I let them play? Is it fair to a guy that puts a lot of effort? I don’t think so.

“I just want to be a coach that looks [himself] in the mirror and say, I was fair.”
