Chippa coach Mammila reveals Swallows major weakness
Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila has revealed a major Swallows weakness ahead of their DStv Premiership clash at Nelson Mandela Bay on Sunday, 26 February.
Mammila and his troops will be seeking revenge against Swallows as the Soweto side got the better of the Chilli Boys in the first round of the league with a 2-0 win.
Chippa who spent the better part of the first round in the top eight have now dropped to bottom of the half. They are now 12th with 24 points, just three points above Swallows.
MORGAN MAMMILA REVEALS SWALLOWS WEAKNESS
Mammila insists they know how to get around Swallows, who are third from the bottom of the log standings.
“Swallows is a good team with a good coach. We respect them as a team and we respect everyone especially in the DStv Premiership,” said Mammila.
“The log says a lot. We were done there, we know how they feel and how they are going to come. The only thing that we must just do is to be patient.
“They are a team that concedes one thing for sure. The only thing that we must not do is that we must not concede and we are a scoring team. In all the 14 matches that we played, we scored in 1matches. So it was only one that we did not score,”
WHAT CHIPPA UNITED NEED TO DO AGAINST SWALLOWS
“So it is just to have a clean sheet and we will win the match. Don’t lose to your direct competitors, which is the team down there. That is the strategy: don’t lose to your competitors, beat them or draw.
“As long as they are still down there, if you play a draw, the points difference will remain the same. But we are aiming high and we want to stay in that top eight bracket. How do you stay? Win matches as simple as that.”
