Sekhukhune United issue update on Sibusiso Vilakazi

Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter has admitted his admiration for former Mamelodi Sundowns Sibusiso Vilakazi.

Vilakazi has been training with the Limpopo club since he parted ways with TS Galaxy last month. The 33-year-old is a free agent and free to join any team.

Vilakazi’s unexpected departure at Galaxy was marred with controversy. Galaxy coach Sead Ramović accused the former Bidvest Wits skipper of not giving his all at training leading to a fallout between the two.

A public spat between the former coach of Vilakazi Pitso Mosimane and Sead Ramovic also erupted.

But the former Bafana Bafana player has also come out to explain that he has had a lot of mental issues to deal with in the last few months. This is after his daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy.

SEKHUKHUNE UNITED STILL ASSESSING SIBUSISO VILAKAZI

Speaking after their 1-0 defeat by Cape Town City on Saturday night, Truter confirmed that both Vilakazi and the club are assessing the situation before making any commitment.

“Villa at the moment is a case of both parties assessing,” Truter told journalists.

“With what happened at his previous club you also just don’t want to go to any club. He has to make sure that he fits in at the same time as any player that comes in. We have to make sure that he fits the profile that we are looking for as well.

BRANDON TRUTER AN ADMIRE OF VILLA

“But Villa is a good professional. He is training well, scoring in games in training as well. But yeah he will be a definite plus to have in our squad,” he said.

“I am saying it’s a plus but now it’s both parties that have to agree you understand? It’s a bit of a prosses with the signing on the dotted line and joining a club but with what happened to him he is also assessing the situation and seeing what we are all about.”
