Ex-Pirates striker coach reveals what Eva Nga needs to get his mojo back

Former Orlando Pirates striker coach Scott Chickelday has revealed what Bienvenu Eva Nga needs to do to get his mojo back.

Despite Chickelday’s short stint with the Soweto giants, he is well aware of the pressure of playing for a big club like the Buccaneers.

And the Englishman has no doubts that the Cameroonian forward is destined for the very top only if his given some playing time.

In fact, the ex-Liverpool and Aston Villa striker’s mentor further explained that Eva Nga needs to be understood well by his mentor [Jose Riveiro] to get him out of his rut following his slow start at the Sea Robbers.

Chickelday was speaking in an interview on Metro FM [Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube] on Tuesday night.

WHAT EVA NGA NEED TO DO TO GET TO THE TOP

“Eva Nga, needs game time to get back to the top. And show everyone what he is made of,” said Chickelday.

“Unfortunately, you cannot go into a game with six strikers, it is only about two or three.

“However, it’s really hard to get back in when you’ve been on the sidelines because there are many strikers at Pirates”

WHAT CHICKELDAY TRIED TO DO WITH PIRATES STRIKERS

Chickelday went on to reveal what he tried to do with Pirates goalscorers in order to get fruitful results.

“It is repetition in certain areas on the field that needs to be worked on,” he added.

“I tried to recreate opportunities that they would find in the game and practice it regularly.”

He also divulged that he would love to come back to South Africa “whether it is at Pirates or elsewhere.”

“South Africa is a great place. I would love to come back, whether it’s at Pirates or elsewhere,” Chickelday revealed.

“I was impressed with the talent in South Africa. But, it just needs to be nurtured more.”
