Gallants coach Mdaka admits the venue instability is frustrating
Marumo Gallants assistant coach Raymond Mdaka admits it could have been better if the club had one venue to avoid a lot of traveling.
Currently, Marumo host their CAF Confederations Cup at the Dobsonville Stadium in Gauteng.
They have also taken two of their PSL matches to the Toyota Stadium in Mangaung. This is on top of the home matches they host in Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg.
The club was based at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane at the beginning of the season. They still conduct their training sessions in Limpopo.
RAYMOND MDAKA ADMITS THE TRAVELING IS TAKING ITS TOLL ON PLAYERS
“That one is a fact, I can not dispute that,” said Mdaka ahead of their Nedbank Cup clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Thursday.
“You sometimes feel that if you were in one place things would be far much better in terms of reducing the traveling.
“Traveling takes a lot, even when you travel from Polokwane to Gauteng you must know that it takes a lot out of the players. So that is something that I can not dispute,” explained Mdaka.
“Like I indicated, some of the things as technical personnel it’s beyond your comment and that is the situation where we are for now.”
ON WHAT MARUMO GALLANTS EXPECT FROM BLOEMFONTEIN SUPPORTERS
The Bloemfontein Celtic supporters have seemingly embraced Marumo Gallants and the possibility of them permanently moving to Mangaung.
This was also evident when they came in numbers to support the club against SuperSport United late last year.
“When it comes to supporters, sometimes you don’t want to crack your head and think about things that you can not answer,” he said.
“We take supporters as supporters, nowadays when teams play you will find supporters of different clubs, people support football.
“So we are playing here, obviously this is where they stay. These are the people who love football and I think without any arrangement of some kind I just think they will be out there at the game because they love football,” he concluded.
Mdaka is temporarily in charge of the club pending the finalisation of a work permit for the clubs’ consultant/head coach Dylan Kerr.
