Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter has applauded the growing support base during their PSL home matches at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Babina Noko is a club founded in 2020 after buying a Motsepe Foundation status from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
They gained promotion to the DStv Premiership after just one season in the lower league. During their first season in the elite league, the club, whose owners hail from Limpopo, played their matches at Makhulong and Ellis Park Stadiums.

They finally decided to take their home matches to Limpopo after some persuasion from political leaders. Due to the growing support at their home games, the club has made the 2010 World Cup precinct uncomfortable for the opposition.
Some clubs like Marumo Gallants have struggled to attract any support attracting an average of 100 fans per match which is one of the reasons they decided to ditch the province.
But it’s a different case for Sekhukhune, who can now attract thousands to their matches.
“When we drove in here, the supporters were waiting for us in the streets [against Cape Town City]. I just said, wow,” Truter told the media.
“The numbers keep on growing. I want to say thank you because we heard them right through the 90 minutes.
“But the result was not meant to be, and I also have to apologise and say sorry. They came out in numbers, spent money to support the team, and expected us to win. So, it’s something that we are not proud of the result, but we look forward to making them proud.”
Sekhukhune’s next home match will be against Chippa United on 18 March.
