Zakhele Lepasa names difference between Gavin Hunt and Pirates coach
"We were running the hill for like an hour."
Orlando Pirates loanee Zakhele Lepasa has named the difference between SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt and Jose Riveiro of the Buccaneers.
Lepasa forced a move away from the Soweto giants during the January transfer window in search of more game time after failing to play constantly at Pirates.
At Pirates, he was also struggling for form, as Lepasa only scored one goal and provided one assist in 13 appearances in all competitions.
At SuperSport, the 25-year-old seem to be slowly finding his groove back.
He opened his Matsatsantsa scoring account by netting his first-ever brace in the DStv Premiership as they downed Golden Arrows 2-1 on Sunday.
WHAT LEPASA IS LEARNING FROM GAVIN HUNT
“To work hard, we work extremely hard. We were running the hill for like an hour, then we went to play a friendly against Swallows FC for 90 minutes,” said Lepasa.
“Normally when these things happen I expect a day off or two from where I come from, but here you must still train. No one is sulking but he pushes you.
“When you play you see how easy it becomes in the field. When you look at the squad maybe it’s not as big as where I come from, but when they play big teams they still do well because of that [working hard].”
WHAT LEPASA BRINGS TO SUPERSPORT
When asked what Lepasa brings to the team, Hunt said he sees a quality player they don’t have at SuperSport.
“He’s a player when you look at him you say ‘wow’, but we need the ‘wow’ to come out. He is only settling in, he needs a little bit of time. He’s different from what we have got, that’s the reason why he came,” he added.
Lepasa will be aiming to continue from where he left off when they face his parent club Orlando Pirates on Saturday 18 March. Kickoff at Orlando Stadium is at 5:45pm.
