Siya Ligendza and Kgaugelo Chauke headline David Notoane’s 29-member preliminary squad for CAF U23 Olympic qualifiers.
Notoane announced the preliminary squad for the qualifiers on Thursday, 9 March 2023.
South Africa’s U23 men’s national team is scheduled to take on Congo Brazzaville in two pivotal back-to-back encounters later this month.
The U23s will lock horns with the Congolese side at Dobsonville Stadium in the first leg on Thursday, 23 March 2023.
The kick-off for the first leg clash will be at 15h00. Notoane’s boys will then jet off to Brazzaville for the second leg at Massamba-Debat Stadium on the weekend of 26/27 March.
DAVID NOTOANE ON HIS SQUAD SELECTION
“Obviously, this squad consists of players who did well in our last matches. Especially in the qualifying rounds,” Notoane told SAFA’s media department.
“And also includes those who are doing very well right now.”
The U23 coach is excited about the group of players he has at his disposal.

The preliminary squad will be reduced to 23 players when the coach makes his announcement of his final squad list next week.
