Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila suspend Johnny Ferreira again
Veteran football coach Johnny Ferreira is certainly having the worst season of his managerial career following the latest developments at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
FARPost has gathered that the PSL club has suspended the 65-year-old pending an investigation. TTM have not won in their last 12 matches in all competitions. Seven of those matches were under Ferreira after he had returned to the club from rivals Black Leopards. He lost five and drew two.
TTM could appoint a new head coach before the end of this week.
TSHAKHUMA TSHA MADZIVHANDILA CONFIRM JOHNNY FERREIRA SUSPENSION
This publication reached out to TTM manager Azwihangwisi Phasha who confirmed that Ferreira was suspended but couldn’t divulge the reasons.
“Yes, I can confirm that the club has taken a decision to suspend coach Johnny Ferreira with immediate effect,” he said.
“There are some investigations going on,” that’s all Phasha could confirm. This publication has also contacted Ferreira to solicit comment, but his phone rang unanswered.
LOVE HATE RELATIONSHIP
The story of TTM and Ferreira has been interesting, if not unfortunate. He started the season as head coach following his departure from Venda Football Academy at the end of last season.
But he jumped ship four months into the job and moved to Leopards, which surprised many given the rivalry between the two clubs. But within a month, Ferreira made a shock u-turn and returned to TTM.
When the club relocated to Mangaung in early February, Ferreira was left behind, and there were intentions to get a new coach. But after that didn’t materialise, the club called him to join the camp two weeks after they had settled at their new home.
The latest developments could signal the end of the relationship between Ferreira and the club.
