Dan Malesela’s frustration is growing at Marumo Gallants
Dan Malesela is growing frustrated with being sidelined at Marumo Gallants after a poor run of form in 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.
Malesela was placed on ‘special leave’ by relegation-threatened Gallants in January after an underwhelming start in the league.
Gallants roped in the experienced coach Dylan Kerr to serve in the technical advisory role.
Raymond Mdaka has since been appointed the interim coach.
With Malesela being in the dark about his future at Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, the coach has expressed his frustration and said he’s ready to hear offers from other teams for his services.
“It doesn’t have to be official, it’s obvious they no longer interested in my services,” Malesela told SAFM.
“When you hire someone and put them on leave, it doesn’t take rocket science to understand what’s happening.
DAN MALESELA OPEN TO COACHING OFFERS
“The contract can be terminated anytime from now so I’m now open to any offers. But at the moment I’m thinking about who do I coach and where do I coach.
‘Because I’ve now learned that if I take any job, I will be compromising my career,” added Malesela.
The well-travelled coach started the season in a co-coaching structure at Royal AM alongside Khabo Zondo but he left hardly three months into the job.
Malesela returned to Gallants, where he was entrusted with a duty to move the team out of the relegation zone.
However, the former Chippa United mentor could not find a consistent winning formula which prompted the club hierarchy to put him on ‘special leave’.
In the current campaign, Gallants have won only three games, drawn 10 while losing nine times after 22 games played in the league.
The Limpopo-based outfit is languishing at the basement of the log with with 19 points accumulated.
Interestingly, Gallants are just two points away from Maritzburg United who are positioned 15th with 21 points.
