Hunt, Motsepe meet in class

Gavin Hunt and Patrice Motsepe have built their legacies in local football!

Hunt, the longest-serving coach in the PSL, is a four-time winner of the South African topflight league as a coach.

The 58-year-old has achieved the feat with different clubs – SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits.

On the other hand, Motsepe has built an unstoppable Mamelodi Sundowns side that has won five consecutive league titles and several other trophies.

MOTSEPE AND HUNT HAVE ENJOYED PSL SUCCESS

The former African champions are on the verge of capturing their sixth successive title while also challenging for the continental club title.

The CAF president and prominent businessman has his entire focus on African football after ascending to the helm in 2021.

He has since passed the baton stick to his 32-year-old son, Tlhopie Motsepe, who now serves as chairman of Sundowns.

Hunt’s 25-year-old daughter, Kaitlin Hunt, is a biokineticist passionate about the game, just like her dad. She is currently involved with a youth side in Johannesburg as a coach.

The two meet in class this week as they do a SAFA D-License Course organised by Ekurhuleni Region.

SAFA Ekurhuleni confirmed the development in a post on Facebook over the weekend.

PICTURED ATTENDING CLASS

“Amongst 37 coaches who are attending the course, we are honoured by the presence of both Motsepe Tlhopie, the Chairman of Mamelodi Sundowns FC, and Kaitlin Hunt, the daughter of coach Gavin Hunt.

“We take pride to be the preferred partner in their coaching education and nation building,” read the post on their official Facebook page.

The tweet was accompanied by a picture showing Motsepe listening attentively.

The two are pictured sharing a moment during an outdoor activity. The activity is part of the course.

The D-License, usually a five-day program, is an introductory course that includes daily training and assessment in both theoretical and practical work.

With a D-License, one is able to train youngsters. The D-License has been organised by the SAFA Regional Association and LFAs.

The course will run until the end of the week. Thereafter, the two will receive certificates.
