PSL player collapses on the field
A PSL star collapsed during a league fixture on Saturday afternoon.
Black Leopards forward Tiklas Thutlwa had to be attended by medical staff during their Motsepe Foundation Championship clash between Casric Stars at Malamulele Stadium.
HIGH TEMPERATURE IN MALAMULELE SUSPECTED TO BE THE CAUSE OF HIS COLLAPSE
The emergency personnel reacted fast to attend the last season’s top goal scorer on the field.
It is suspected that the high temperature in Malamulele could have been the cause of this incident. FARPost is closely following developments.
Thutlwa was elated after topping the South African football second tier last season with 16 goals.
The striker achieved that feat in 29 league games for Lidoda Duvha in the last term.
He played a huge role in helping Leopards survive the chop under the tutelage of Joel Masutha, who got the better of the 23-year-old footballer.
His goal contribution is what helped Leopards to orchestrate their upturn which saw them finish the season in position nine after accumulating 39 points.
TIKLAS THUTLWA EYEING TOP FLIGHT DANCE
In his interview with FARPost in August 2022, the rising star stated that his utmost dream is to help the Vhembe-based side attain top flight status.
He had gone on to divulge how difficult it was to fight to the finish last campaign as they had to pull up their socks and fight for their careers.
The game between Leopards and Casric ended in a 1-1 draw. And this is not a good result for Owen Da Gama’s side.
Currently, Lidoda Duvha are languishing at the basement of the log standings with 18 points after 24 games.
The chances of Leopards surviving the relegation zone are very slim as they are eight points behind 14th-placed Magesi.
