WAFCON-winning star joins Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have signed a talented defender who was part of the South African team that won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations [WAFCON].
As first reported by FARPost a week ago, Banyana Banyana star Lebohang Ramalepe has completed her move to Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.
This publication confirmed that the Limpopo-born footballer had been training with the Hollywoodbets Super League champions for a week, hoping to secure a deal.

Ultimately, the negotiations between the two parties were fruitful, which landed the star player with Banyana Ba Style.
This move came at the right time for Ramalepe, who will be hoping to cement her place in Desiree Ellis’ squad for the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The World Cup will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand from July 20 until August 20.
The deal would surprise many people, given Ramalepe’s extensive experience in the beautiful game.
This comes after the 2022 CAF Africa Women’s Cup of Nations [WAFCON] parted ways with Belarusian side FC Dinamo Minsk last year in December.
She cut ties with Minsk on bad terms as the relationship got toxic when Ramalepe sustained an anterior cruciate ligament [ACL] injury.
The talented defender was accused by the Belarusian club of faking the injury. They felt like she didn’t want to play for them anymore.
