All AFCON fixtures and results as Bafana Bafana host Liberia 

Bafana Bafana are part of 44 nations scheduled to play AFCON qualifier fixtures as African countries tussle it for places in the continental showpiece set for Cote D’Ivoire next year.

The qualifiers, running from 22-24 March, will see qualification for the 2024 edition take shape.

ALL UPCOMING AFCON FIXTURES

Nigeria’s Super Eagles – three-time African champions – play host to Guinea Bissau at the Abiola Stadium in Abuja, on Friday 24 March 2023 [18h00].

The Super Eagles will be hoping to soar higher above the other three teams in Group A, following their victories over Sao Tome E Principe and Sierra Leone.

Burkina Faso’s Stallions, currently top in Group B, are also at home against Togo on Friday at Stade de Marrakech in Morocco [21h00]. Togo are searching for their first victory of the qualifiers after losing to Cape Verde and sharing the spoils with Eswatini.

Eswatini take the long trip to Cape Verde for another Group B clash at the National Stadium [18h00].

Cameroon, who received a walkover result over Kenya on Match Day One, take on Peter Shalulile’s Namibia on home soil in Group C. The Indomitable Lions are top of the group with three points while the Brave Warriors are third with a point.

The Pharaohs of Egypt are fourth in Group D as they host Malawi at the Cairo International Stadium. Interestingly, all four teams in that group are on three points. 

BAFANA BAFANA FACE LIBERIA

Guinea, on the other hand, play host to group leaders Ethiopia at the Mohammed V Complex Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.

Newly appointed Tanzania coach Adel Amrouche will look to get a positive start with the Taifa Stars when they play Uganda’s Cranes in Egypt at the Suez Canal Stadium.

At the Stade Olympique de Rades, Tunisia play fellow North African country Libya in what promises to be a tough encounter.

In Johannesburg at the Orlando Stadium, Bafana Bafana will be hoping to get a positive result when they host Liberia in Group K.

Both teams lost to Morocco in the three-team group meaning the winner of the tie will be in good stead to qualify for the 2024 finals as runners-up. However, they still need to play next Tuesday in Monrovia.

Reigning African champions Senegal are up against Group L opponents Mozambique at the Me Abdoulaye Wade de Diamniadio Stadium in Dakar. The Mambas’ hopes rest on the shoulders of Kaizer Chiefs’ Edmilson Dove and Elias Pelembe of Royal AM.
