European club offers former Orlando Pirates star chance for revival

A European club is on the verge to hand a former Orlando Pirates star a chance for revival!

The club has reportedly registered their interest in former SuperSport United winger Kudakwashe Mahachi.

Mahachi has been clubless since June last year when SuperSport United opted against renewing his contract.

At that time, the former Mamelodi Sundowns winger was facing attempted murder charges in Zimbabwe.

His ex-wife accused him of attempting to murder his four year old son while they were in South Africa.

Zimbabwean courts however acquited the 29-year-old, saying the evidence given by witnesses was disjointed and contradictory.

Mahachi has since been trying to find a club without success, but a Gibraltar-based club has invited him to try his luck.

Recently he was linked with Maritzburg United but nothing was agreed on.

According to the Sunday News, the former Orlando Pirates attacker is currently processing his travelling documents.

The Zimbabwean publication quotes an invitation letter from FCB Magpies.

“Please accept this letter as an official invitation from FCB Magpies, a Gibraltar professional football team, for Kudakwashe Mahachi, a Zimbabwean national with passport number [hidden] to attend a football trial in Gibraltar.

“As part of the trial invite, FCB Magpies will provide accommodation and all food expenses,” read the letter as quoted by Zimbabwe weekly.

It remains to be seen if the trial materialises.

HOW KUDA MAHACHI IS KEEPING GOOD SHAPE

Last week, the player’s agent Gibson revealed to FARPost how his client has been keeping shape while stationed in South Africa.

“For now, we can only wait. I’m not yet in a position to confirm anything. There’s nothing but I have told him to develop new habits.

“Going to church frequently and gym interactions will help him get rid of the boredom.

“Reading books and keeping his mind active will also go a long way in helping him stay grounded. Above all, relentlessly training himself is a must.

“I talk to him often because his state of mind is so important at this point that he is waiting for his return to full-time playing,” the agent said.

The agent also says several clubs in Zimbabwe want the player, but nothing has come to fruition.
