TTM makes decision on Johnny Ferreira

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have finally made a decision on the future of coach Johnny Ferreira. Ferreira has been on suspension since earlier this month for allegedly spitting at a player during training. The player involved is Mokgantle Katleho.

The 65-year-old went for a DC hearing last week, and the DC hearing outcomes came out on Tuesday evening. The well-travelled PSL mentor confirmed to FARPost on Wednesday that the club decided to terminate his contract.

JOHNNY FERREIRA APOLOGISES AFTER TTM DECISION

“I made a mistake with my gesture, and I have apologised to him and his father. He accepted my apology a long time ago, and it’s the end of the story, they move their direction and just move my direction,” he said.

“I have nothing against the club or the player and wish them well for their relegation battle.”

ON SUGGESTIONS THAT THE INCIDENT WAS MOTIVATED BY RACISM

“People will always have their own narrative. It’s out of my control. People drive narratives that have connotations with racism and discrimination because they need viewers or listeners or whatever they need.

“The bottom line is that the gesture was, in the scheme of things, unsavoury, but I have worked in this industry for over 20 years and managed some big-name players, and never would I do such a thing.

ON HIS FUTURE

“I am still waiting now because the season is barely over. Sox games, teams are going for relegation and promotion, so I don’t think they will change a lot of things now. But I will stay busy. I will keep studying the football game that I love so much.”

TTM are back in action for their Motsepe Foundation Championship relegation battle against All Stars.

They are currently on 19 points, seven points below the safety position, with six matches remaining.
